Does the press ever have it in for Hillary Clinton. David Geffen unloads on her because her husband didn't pardon his friend. He stays at the White House so he can brag to his friends about the percale and then calls the Clintons liars. Bitchy, very bitchy.
They say she is humorless, she is stiff, she is rehearsed. We are going to be dumping a president soon who liked to laugh and seemed real loosey goosey, how did he work out for the country?
She is a really smart public servant, and every day I see men talk about her like she's the smart girl in school, with a combination of jealousy and vitriol.
Senator Obama is a marvelous force in politics, but I have no idea if he can come up with solutions, all he has done so far is tell me that others have made mistakes. I already knew that.
I think all this helps Senator Edwards. He just lays in the cut and lets them slug it out. The greater damage is done to the party. The candidates are so hungry to take the place of the incompetent dry drunk who occupies the Oval Office now, that they are showing their immaturity and impatience.
By the way, Maureen Dowd has given up all parts of the high ground after the proboscis burial she performed in Joe Biden's tush.

"She is a really smart public servant"
She is smart. But I would say a smart politician not public servant. She'll ride the fence on the war as far as it will take her. She said if she knew then what she knows now, she wouldn't have voted to authorize it. If I knew then what I know now, I would have won Lotto twice a week since the war began. There is no crystal ball (unfortunately) for these things. I wonder if after Congress voted to give the President this authorization, and they really backed him and the mission consistently, if there would be a different tone and momentum to this war. We are sending mixed signals to the enemy and to our brave troops over there. I take Dennis Miller's stance on this. Even if I was against the war, I would lie and say I was all for it until our soldiers returned. I could not imagine how difficult it is over there. I also think it may be more difficult over there when our elected leaders are not backing the mission they authorized. They OK Gen. Petreus and a week later they have a resolution denouncing his mission (more troops to accomplish the mission). This has never happened during war time in the US history. I hate war and wish our service men and women were not there. However, they are there. I think we need to finish the job (help Iraq establish a democratic country) and then leave. I can't compare this to Vietnam because I admittedly don't know enough about it. One thing I do know about Vietnam is after we left, the outcome was not too good for South Vietnam and Cambodia. Maybe if we stay and establish a democracy in the Arab world, it will create winds of change across the Arab world for the better. Maybe that will help end terrorism and bring that fringe element to embrace peace and modernity. I pray that something good comes out of our brave soldiers scrafices.
If I'm missing some major points, please help me out.
