Karl Rove resigns. OK, Bush effectively has one year left, unless he snaps and tries to go "All Dictator All the Time". If Rove leaves, it is lame duck in the truest sense of the words. If the guy who is known as "Bush's Brain" is leaving, that leaves Bush without a brain. Assuming he has had a brain for the last six years, that means that all his decisions will now be brainless. Kudos to those who can tell the difference.
Karl is leaving to spend more time with his family. That is what he said, more time with his family. For the last six years, you spent no time with them,is that what you mean? You ran out of people who hate you,so your job is done? There is no one else you can effectively damage? There are no more wealthy people to make wealthier? I wasn't old enough to really remember McCarthy, but the fear and pessimism created by Bush and his henchmen must evoke memories of that time for those who are.
As much as this adminstration is horrible when they are trying to succeed, what will it be like when they are coasting? Wow!!!

I wouldn't be so quick to call him brainless. While he is definitely not the "Great Communicator" Ronald Reagan was or the smooth politician Bill Clinton was (or is), he does have a brain. He stated that he was an average student. Yet he is the only US President with an MBA. From Harvard no less. They don't just give those away. He went on to be an extremely successful businessman and politician. Certainly not perfect but certainly not brainless.
I would love to know if the war in Iraq and the overall war on terror would be going any better had Congress gotten on board for the good of the country and showed a united front in their authorization of invading Iraq. I'll go out on a limb and say that at the very least the enemy (terrorists) and our brave armed forces would have different mind sets about the overall campaign. What was that song? United we stand. Divided we fall.
