Arrogant and Ignorant is Dangerous

Bush had a press conference today. If he sounded any dumber,he would be thin air.
He told us to pay attention to detail, but he knew nothing of Putin's successor.
He professed love for immigrants, but called some of them "foreigners".
He said you can't sue phone companies, because they have to make money. Remember that when a prescription drug kills a family member.
He said we can't embrace the Castro brothers, but evidently Cheney can shake hands with Saddam and Bush can hold hands with a Saudi leader who funds insurgents in Iraq.
He said he wouldn't talk politics, but he slammed Obama.
Then Chris Matthews called Bush's press conference powerful. Matthews is evidently auditioning for the Larry King "All Ears" award.

Solomon

I will be voting for a new president in November. I will not be selecting John McCain, because I think he is a mean-spirited phony, a war hawk and a opportunist who will say and do anything to win.
Hillary Clinton would be a fine president, but the animus toward her is overwhelming. The people who hate her are misguided. Certainly you may disagree with her policies, you may think she would not be a good president, but if you hate her, that says a lot more about you than her. You cannot have voted for Bush and then say Clinton will not not get your vote because she is conniving. The GOP builds enemies out of thin air,and because they have done a vivious hatchet job on the junior senator from New York, I must swing to Obama. I must vote for the person most likely to beat McCain. I cannot let a septugenarian incompetent who tells gay jokes about Mrs. Clinton and ugly jokes about her then teenage daughter. Just because he is an older screwup than Bush doesn't mean he is not a screw up.

Time on Their Hands

We are enmeshed in a horrible war. Almost one-sixth of us have no health insurance. The housing industry is in a tailspin, and we are in the middle stretch of an election cycle. Naturally,in times like these, congress turns its attention to: The National Football League. The attention comes during the Super Bowl week. It involves the possibility that one team spied on another and the commissioner burned the tapes proving that spying took place. I am not kidding. These people who enact laws you have to obey are spending their time finding out if taping a practice took place. This answers the question, how ineffectual can a legislative body be? This is what you are focused on?
I remember congressman kissing Senator Jim Bunning's (R., Ky.) ass when he testified about steroids. Amazingly, all the panel had a memory of seeing Bunning, a Hall of Fame pitcher, toss fastballs in Tiger Stadium. Fastballs from Bunning, softballs from the congresspeople. Maybe the fact that Senator Arlen Specter survivied cancer gives him the right to wile away the time with self seeking bull. This is the reason people stop voting, clowns in suits tackling deep issues. Deep like a birdbath.

Grow Up

What edge does the GOP have? As soon as they arrive at a choice for POTUS,the RNC tells everyone else to get lost. We have our choice, now go home. The Democrats evidently like fighting until they are toothless and dead on their feet. Oh,sure,we'll lose, but we fought the good fight. It is the most immature stance in politics: yes, let's lose and brag about it. Let's cheer on Nader, an aging egomaniac whose intrusion onto the political stage gave us the worst preisdent in modern history. Now I have to listen to Michael Moore write that he is unsure who he will vote for. I don't care who you vote for,Michael, and no one else should either. Does anyone really wait around to see who Moore will like so that they can vote that way too? If McCain wins,we will have a foul-mouthed ill-temepered septugenarian who has lied abouit every position and whose meaness is only overshadowed by his hypocrisy. Those who eschew the Dem choice and claim to be progressives are elitist punks. Remember, when Bush won,Nader said it would energize the left. Tell me if you noticed the vast improvement in your life from that spark of energy. Grow up and vote for the best of the two, otherwise you have to keep quiet when things go further south at the hands of Senator McCain.
